Reviews for tutors in Oswestry

5.0

Elen has taken on the role of instructing my sons in English for several months now. Her teaching methods are thorough and systematic, ensuring that every lesson is well-structured and effective. She provides tailored material to address each of the kids' gaps. She has a way of engaging with my children that keeps them interested and motivated. As a result of her efforts, I've observed a notable enhancement in my sons' creative writing abilities. They are now more expressive and confident in their writing. Given the progress I've seen, I wouldn't hesitate to suggest her to other parents within my circle, as I believe she can bring out the best in any student. Rachel

Louise tutored my son and daughter while they were in Year 11. She is brilliant at motivating them, making them feel confident and able to tackle the exams. Without her help, my children wouldn't have met the grade 4 standard. Mrs Stene

Mr Hobbs is truly amazing, and he is a legend!! His style of learning just works. His methods supersede all others. Willis (now year 5) actually enjoys learning again! Mr Hobbs was Willis' School Teacher in yr 3 & 4; he excelled with Mr Hobbs, and beyond belief, he went from 'Look, how, now' books to chapter books in 5 days. He had read the box set of Ronald Dahl & moved on to Harry Potter books within four months! Unreal!! Very highly recommended. Rachel

Chris has been a saviour for my son Alfie. He has been coming over the summer break for a few weeks of intensive two-hour slots to help Alfie catch up on all that he didn't learn in Year 10. Alfie has ADHD and has struggled at school to engage with the GCSE course, but Chris has reversed this. Alfie has been amazed at how much he has learned and enjoyed with Chris. We would 100% recommend him and will be continuing weekly sessions throughout Year 11. Meg Black

Chris stands out as being amongst the most creative, organised, thoughtful and inspirational of teachers. His love of and expertise in his topic (English Literature and Language GCSE for us) shines through, and he is beyond professional. He makes the subjects sing. (He also works well as part of a team) . Anne Todd

Vicky is amazing she has really helped my daughter prosper and reach her potential Mrs Ahmed

There is no excellent learning without excellent teaching, and our teachers are expected to teach in a way that inspires and motivates. We have over 20,000 talented teachers providing tuition, chosen for their broad range of experience, professionalism, academic specialisms, passion, and dedication to their students. We only ever offer qualified teachers as tutors, as we believe professional teachers provide the highest quality of tuition.

Location
Home Tuition: Involves a teacher coming to your home in Oswestry to provide one-on-one instruction. This offers convenience as you don't need to travel. Online Tuition: This can take place anywhere with an internet connection. Small Group Tuition: Typically with between 2 to 4 children, and often occurs in a physical location such as your home, though it can also be online.

Individual Attention
Home Tuition: Offers the highest level of individual attention, as the tutor focuses solely on one student. Online Tuition: Still allows for one-to-one attention, but it may be slightly less personal than home tuition due to potential distractions. Small Group Tuition: Offers less individual attention as the tutor must divide their time and attention among multiple students.

Cost
Home Tuition: This tends to be more expensive because it involves one-on-one teaching, and the tutor is required to travel to your home, in Oswestry. Online Tuition: Often more affordable than home tuition as your tutor does not need to travel but may still cost more than small group tuition. Small Group Tuition: Generally, this is the most cost-effective option, as the costs are shared among several families.

Flexibility
Home Tuition: Offers flexibility in terms of scheduling and curriculum, as your tutor will only be working with your child. Online Tuition: Provides flexibility in terms of location and may offer a wider selection of tutors. Small Group Tuition: Lessons will be more difficult to schedule as lesson times will have to fit in with other families.

Interaction
Home Tuition: Offers in-person interaction, which can be beneficial for students who learn better through face-to-face communication. Online Tuition: Provides interaction through video conferencing tools and chat, which can be engaging but may not suit everyone's learning style. Small Group Tuition: Allows for peer interaction, which can benefit collaborative learning and discussions.

The choice between home, online, or small group tuition in Oswestry depends on your preferences, budget, and the student's specific educational needs. Each option has advantages and disadvantages, so it's essential to consider these factors when deciding.
