About me

I am a Primary school teacher with over 35 years of experience and ten years as a Headteacher. I have taught children of all age groups from Nursery to Year 7, preparing children for National assessments including Phonics screening, KS1 and KS2 SATs. I am an Advanced Skills Teacher specialism in teaching children how to learn and experience teaching children with various educational needs and learning styles, including SEND. I have a particular skill and passion for teaching reading at all levels, from early reading development to higher-order reading skills needed at the secondary level, including children with Dyslexia. I am also a specialist Primary English teacher and teach writing, grammar, and spelling. I aim to build a strong rapport with children, igniting an I CAN DO belief in partnership with Parents/Carers and the school to change negative perceptions.
