Reviews for tutors in Basingstoke

5.0

Dr Vivian is a fantastic, friendly teacher who I would highly recommend to anyone seeking to improve their child's performance in science. Viv has been teaching my Son Chemistry, Physics and Biology for the past 2 years. The lessons are always highly engaging and enjoyable. They even perform practical experiments together which has really added to his understanding. My son went from a grade 7 to achieving a grade 9 in every assessment since seeing Viv . This year he even won an award for the highest performing year 8 in science ! Mrs Evans

My daughter will start Y6. Stella has been her tutor since Y2, and she is an amazing, caring and lovely tutor, very well-prepared to help with any subject. She has been not only key to boosting my daughter's confidence and learning, but she is also a massive help with whatever school initiative, homework, workshop or academic challenge is undertaken. My daughter has improved her grades significantly. She was chosen to represent her school in a math challenge, for a debate and even to be a prefect, among other achievements. Stella prepared my daughter for all these events. Besides, she makes the lesson fun and exciting and always has tips to help parents. She listens to my daughter and spares a few minutes in the lesson for a quick game. In a few words, my daughter looks forward to every lesson and is excellent. We just love her! Mrs Rita Guinta

Abbie was fantastic with my autistic son. She always made him feel safe and comfortable first before trying to teach him. His emotional understanding grew with his social skills and academics. Mr Ridge

Philippa has provided my daughter with the valuable extra support that she needs in English. Her lessons are well planned and the English materials she provides are detailed and informative. My daughter has found lessons engaging and they have consolidated her learning. Thank you Philippa for your continued support. Mrs Sinead Frohawk

Philippa was extremely diligent in terms of preparation before my daughter's tutorial sessions. Her presentations during the session were excellent. She was effective in teaching optimal planning and structuring of answers to typical GCSE questions. This supported my daughter to obtain a 9 in English language and a 7 in English Literature. I would highly recommend Philippa as a tutor. Mrs Jane Peatie

There is no excellent learning without excellent teaching, and our teachers are expected to teach in a way that inspires and motivates. We have over 20,000 talented teachers providing tuition, chosen for their broad range of experience, professionalism, academic specialisms, passion, and dedication to their students. We only ever offer qualified teachers as tutors, as we believe professional teachers provide the highest quality of tuition.

Location
Home Tuition: Involves a teacher coming to your home in Basingstoke to provide one-on-one instruction. This offers convenience as you don't need to travel. Online Tuition: This can take place anywhere with an internet connection. Small Group Tuition: Typically with between 2 to 4 children, and often occurs in a physical location such as your home, though it can also be online.

Individual Attention
Home Tuition: Offers the highest level of individual attention, as the tutor focuses solely on one student. Online Tuition: Still allows for one-to-one attention, but it may be slightly less personal than home tuition due to potential distractions. Small Group Tuition: Offers less individual attention as the tutor must divide their time and attention among multiple students.

Cost
Home Tuition: This tends to be more expensive because it involves one-on-one teaching, and the tutor is required to travel to your home, in Basingstoke. Online Tuition: Often more affordable than home tuition as your tutor does not need to travel but may still cost more than small group tuition. Small Group Tuition: Generally, this is the most cost-effective option, as the costs are shared among several families.

Flexibility
Home Tuition: Offers flexibility in terms of scheduling and curriculum, as your tutor will only be working with your child. Online Tuition: Provides flexibility in terms of location and may offer a wider selection of tutors. Small Group Tuition: Lessons will be more difficult to schedule as lesson times will have to fit in with other families.

Interaction
Home Tuition: Offers in-person interaction, which can be beneficial for students who learn better through face-to-face communication. Online Tuition: Provides interaction through video conferencing tools and chat, which can be engaging but may not suit everyone's learning style. Small Group Tuition: Allows for peer interaction, which can benefit collaborative learning and discussions.

The choice between home, online, or small group tuition in Basingstoke depends on your preferences, budget, and the student's specific educational needs. Each option has advantages and disadvantages, so it's essential to consider these factors when deciding.
